Haven After School Program

Starting on Feb 18th!

On Thurdsay afternoons we run an after school program from 3:30 - 5:30pm.

Haven is an afterschool program for youth in grades 4-8 that happens at JDHES on Thursday afternoons. It is interactive, character-building program that includes group activities, character talks, snack, homework help, games, and a creative outlet.

Thank you for registering your child in our after-school program.   Here is some of the information you need to know!

PROGRAM INFORMATION///

We provide free after-school care once a week from 3:15 to 5:00 at J.Douglas Hodgson Elementary School in Haliburton.  The program runs Thursdays in room 211 and is open to children in grades 4-8.  Haven will be catered to grades 4,5, and 6.  Grade 7 and 8's are more then welcome to participate, be helpers, or quietly play a game or do homework while the program is running. 

We must have parental permission for a child to participate.

We commit to providing your child with a safe, fun environment in which to grow, pursue friendships, and learn.  

In the event of a snow day, keep in mind that if the buses are cancelled, Haven will be cancelled!

Please pick up your child between 5:00 and 5:15.  Our program is staffed mainly by committed volunteers, and we would like to be able to let them leave at or by 5:15.

Being responsible for your child means we need to know beforehand if they will not be attending.  Please call Jashelle Kitcheman-Reay or Rachel Hicks at (705) 854-1101 if your child will not be able to attend a certain week.

Also, we expect children to be picked up by their parent or guardian.  If another caregiver will be picking up your child, please call Jashelle or Rachel (see number above) in advance or give us written confirmation.
