LIT (Leaders In Training) Camp (Bobcaygeon)

Leaders in Training creates an opportunity for youth who have been participants in our programs in the past to graduate to the position of Junior Volunteer. LIT starts with their own training camp where they will learn and practice leadership skills, have fun with team building experiences, bond together as LIT’s and learn what it means to be a ‘Servant Leader’ after our model of Jesus. After training camp, LIT’s will be able to enter into a Junior Volunteer role within our Kids Summer Camps (Cooking and GO camps) and will be offered other volunteer opportunities with Youth Unlimited’s partnerships. This is a great chance for youth to get volunteer hours, work experience, give back, work with kids and be stretched in being “servant leaders”.
Location: Running in Bobcaygeon – location to be TBD
Time: 9:30am – 3:30pm
Dates: July 3-5
Ages 13-15
Cost: $30
Bring your own lunch. A snack will be provided.

Leaders in Training Camp creates an opportunity for youth who have been participants in our programs in the past to graduate and remain a part of Kawartha Lakes Youth Unlimited. They are able to take on leadership responsibilities among their peers through volunteering opportunities at VBS, pop-up events, and our summer camps. They learn to lead, modelling their actions after the perfect leader – Jesus.

Specialty Camps

A variety of one week camps held throughout the summer, usually geared towards teaching youth a specific skill. Past examples have been Cooking Camps, Get Outside (GO) Sports Camp, and Art Camps. Previous summers have reached over 120 young people, involved 25 young leaders, and have hired on two additional summer staff to help make these camps amazing!

KLYU works with local churches to help them run their Vacation Bible Schools. VBS are daytime programs that used themed curriculum and fun activities to teach elementary aged kids about the Bible. We often help churches by working with the oldest age group at VBS to teach them leadership skills.

Youth Unlimited Discovery Adventures are four day long camping trips that provide youth with the chance to learn the practical skills involved with camping and experience God’s beautiful creation firsthand. Many of the youth who participate in these adventures have never been camping before!
