Volunteering at Peterborough Youth Unlimited
Looking to get involved in the community? Consider volunteering at Peterborough Youth Unlimited in one of the following ways:
Program volunteers: we typically ask for program volunteers to be involved in one youth program for one school year. Youth programs include drop-ins, after-school programs, cooking programs, skate club and more!
Volunteer Assistant: the volunteer assistant role is to support program staff in making the programs we offer AWESOME. volunteer assistants typically help with set-up, take-down, preparing food, running games and generally supporting the program in whatever way is needed! This is a great entry level position. We typically ask for volunteer assistants to commit to one program for one school year, but this position is more flexible.
Volunteer Drivers: Help us by picking kids up after school one day a week and bringing them to us! (You must be 25, have a G drivers license and $2 million
liability insurance on your vehicle)
Baking Volunteers: Bake and drop off baked goods for programs.
Snack Support: Come in during a program to prepare snack/dinner for the youth.
Housekeeping Support: Come in to our youth space regularly to help clean or
maintain the space.
Event Volunteers: the ideal event volunteer is someone who wants to get involved with Youth Unlimited but can’t commit to a regular program. Event volunteers are contacted whenever we have a special event coming up that we need extra support with. Depending on the event, some or no screening may be required. Event volunteers have the freedom to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to whatever events they are interested in helping out with.
Volunteer Tutors: Come and tutor a youth in elementary school for 20 minutes
Guest Speaker: We would love for you to visit a program and share about your
profession and how you live out your faith!
Gift Sponsors: sponsor a Christmas gift for a youth ($20)
Building Volunteers: The Bridge Youth Centre is our youth centre downtown Peterborough, and we are always looking for skilled or unskilled workers who are willing to lend a hand to keep our building and property looking great! Whether you’re a skilled tradesperson or someone who just wants to lend a hand in helping out around our space, we would love to put you on our building team! This is a flexible role – we will add you to our list of people to contact as needs come up.
Media Team Volunteers: With various events, programs, and activities, we love being able to put out quality videos and images of our events. If media is your passion and you want to help us in this area, we would love to get you connected!
Office Helpers: Office helpers are those amazing and faithful volunteers who see the bigger administrative picture help support us with some key office tasks. Tasks include key mailings, distribution of event materials, and can even include helping with communication needs. If serving through administration is your skillset or passion, we have a place for you!
Community engagement: Youth Unlimited does our best to stay connected to the various events that are happening in our community and churches, as well as making sure we are up to date on all that the amazing community of Peterborough has to offer!
